Eligibility
Any homeowner or landlord in England will be able to claim a voucher, which are worth up to £5,000.
Households (not landlords) on low income / eligible benefits can receive vouchers covering 100% of the cost of the improvements, up to a maximum of £10,000, potentially covering the full cost of the works. See below all 16 eligible benefits.
Is External Solid Wall Insulation included?
Yes, external solid wall insulation is a ‘key’ measure available under the scheme and is expected to be one of the most popular installations undertaken, along with other forms of insulation that are suitable for your property.
Solid wall and pre-fabricated / non-traditional properties are some of the most inefficient types of housing stock in the UK, and are typically expensive to heat.
External solid wall insulation was developed as the ideal home energy improvement solution for such properties, helping to make them more energy efficient and cheaper to heat.

How much will I get and could it be FREE*?
The government will provide a voucher that covers two-thirds of the cost of qualifying energy efficiency improvements to your home. The maximum value of the voucher is £5,000.
However, if you are on a low income and/or receive certain benefits, you can receive a voucher that typically will cover all of the cost of the improvements.
You may be able to receive a higher level of subsidy if you are a homeowner and either you or a member of your household receives one of the qualifying means-tested benefits, covering 100% of the cost of the improvements.
The maximum value of this voucher is £10,000.
This could mean your home may be eligible for FREE* external solid wall insulation.
Landlords cannot apply for the low-income benefits part of the scheme.
* subject to size of property and survey
** Proof of benefit will be required by the Government during the voucher application process.

Are vouchers limited and how long will the scheme last?
The Government has allocated a set amount of money for the scheme, and it will run until 31 March 2022, meaning there is a limited window, and a number of vouchers, for homeowners and landlords to secure their grant.
All works have to be completed and signed off within 3 months of the voucher being issued (with the scheme closing on by 31 March 2022).
Only one voucher can be secured per property.
There hasn’t been a similar domestic energy efficiency scheme since the closure of the Government’s Green Deal Home Improvement Fund (GDHIF) in 2015, where the vouchers were snapped up quickly, causing the scheme to close within weeks of its launch.
This really is an opportunity not to be missed.
Who can install energy efficiency measures under the scheme?
Only TrustMark or Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) accredited tradespeople (businesses) can work under the scheme, ensuring that the building work is completed to a high standard by accredited tradespeople, making sure consumers are fully protected.
Sustainable Building Services UK Ltd (TrustMark Licence Number: 1743630) is approved for installation of Solid Wall Installation under the scheme.
Do I need multiple quotes?
No, you can pre-select your chosen TrustMark accredited business, and as long as they are licensed for the energy measure you require, they can supply you with a quote for the works, and you can then secure your voucher and select them as your selected installer.
Customers select us on the basis of our experience, quality, and our customer-focused approach or by seeing first hand similar works undertaken around them for social housing providers (councils / housing associations) and other private homeowners / landlords.
